How the calculation works

Goods costs × [1 + FX-exposed share × assumed supplier cost change]. Freight and energy each change by their entered percentages. Other operating costs stay fixed.

Operating surplus = scenario sales − goods − freight − energy − other operating costs.

Additional receivables = scenario monthly sales × credit share ÷ 30 × additional payment days. This excludes existing receivables, bad debts and supplier-payment changes.

These are user assumptions, not forecasts. Oil prices do not automatically translate to the same change in a business’s energy bill. Taxes, debt payments, depreciation, capital expenditure and owner withdrawals are excluded.
