Investment in associated gas at Basra’s Nahr Bin Umar field was on the agenda of 11 October discussions between Iraq’s prime minister and representatives of TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips, Qatar News Agency reported, citing the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office.
The discussions connected field-level oil and gas production schedules with the government’s objective of making greater use of domestic gas. The account disclosed no investment value, gas-processing capacity, contracting structure or equipment award. It records engagement by the two companies, without establishing a newly signed development contract.
