Muthanna solar proposal targets an initial 250 MW before summer 2027

The planned PowerChina project has a stated total capacity of 750 MW; the first-phase date remains a ministry target.

Iraq Business News reported on 29 August that the electricity ministry and PowerChina discussed technical and implementation arrangements for a planned 750 MW solar station in Muthanna.

The ministry expected an initial 250 MW before summer 2027. This is a prospective delivery milestone; the report does not establish operating capacity, financial close or an open procurement package.
