Shafaq News reported on 28 September that crude volumes allocated for export through the Kirkuk system had risen to about 250,000 barrels a day from roughly 225,000, citing an unnamed North Oil Company source.
The source linked the increase to additional crude from southern Iraq, including some moved by tanker trucks, and described continued coordination between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government. The route carries crude through Türkiye to Ceyhan.
The report’s components do not provide a clear reconciliation of the total: the stated Kirkuk and Kurdistan Region volumes already sum to 250,000 barrels a day, while additional supply is also mentioned. Iraq Business Desk has not independently verified the figures and does not add those components together.
The report indicates greater use of the northern export route, but allocated volumes should not be treated as confirmed tanker shipments or export receipts. A reconciled operating statement would be needed to quantify the increase reliably.
