CBI sets public dollar rate at 1,520 dinars from 7 October

The reported central-bank circular sets separate rates for purchases from the Finance Ministry, sales to banks and sales to the public.

The Central Bank of Iraq set a public dollar-selling rate of 1,520 dinars, effective from the start of business on 7 October 2026, according to the bank’s statement reported by NINA and 964media.

The schedule sets the central bank’s purchase rate for dollars from the Ministry of Finance at 1,500 dinars and its selling rate to banks at 1,510 dinars. The public rate is therefore 10 dinars above the bank rate and 20 dinars above the Finance Ministry transaction rate.

The reported circular directs licensed banks, exchange companies and electronic-payment companies to replace the previous rates and update their systems. These are the announced official transaction rates; they do not describe prices in the parallel cash market.
